Finance Manager

Department: Accounting & Finance

Department/ Area: Administration

Position Summary:

This position includes but is not limited to management of the accounting functions of the company, reporting of financial information maintaining budgets, and ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and business regulations. This position requires accuracy, a hands-on approach, attention to detail, an ethical, honest, and open character, strong organizational skills, excellent communications skills, and a detailed understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Tasks:

Accounting Duties

• Manage accounting records and produce monthly financial reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for parent and subsidiary entities.
• Maintenance of accounting records for parent and subsidiary entities.
• Oversight of the employees involved in the accounting process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and inventory for parent and subsidiary entities.

Budgeting Duties

• Create and monitor company budgets to ensure that expenses are in line with projected revenue. Ensure that accounts payable payments are made timely and that debt is serviced properly.

Compliance Duties

Coordinate various engagements with third parties such as:

• review of financial statements with third-party accountants
• corporate tax return preparation with third-party accountants
• workers comp audits with insurance carrier
• research and development tax credit analysis with tax credit company
• property tax and sales/use tax audits with government entities

Management of the company 401(k) plan which includes ensuring plan compliance, review and processing plan contributions and distribution requests, review of plan fees and coordinating the annual audit with third-party CPA firm.

Ensure timely filing and payment of quarterly sales/use tax returns and timely issuance of Form 1099s to vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years in public accounting
• CPA license preferred, but not required.
• Specialized accounting areas: consolidation accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Word, some familiarity with ADP is beneficial as well.

Reporting Relationships: Reports to General Manager
