Job Description

Position: Associate Director, Supply Chain

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Supply Chain to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, planning, logistics, and inventory management. The Associate Director of Supply Chain will lead a team of professionals and collaborate across departments to ensure efficient and effective supply chain operations.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize supply chain operations, ensuring cost-effective and efficient processes.
  • Responsible for warehouse related SOPs, investigations and CAPAs.
  • Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management, to ensure quality and timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Perform vendor and warehouse audits/inspections as needed to ensure compliance and act as SME for the warehouse.
  • Coordinate and execute daily activities of the warehouses to meet the demands of clinical and commercial manufacturing in a timely manner to ensure no delays in supply chain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement demand planning strategies and forecasting models to accurately predict future supply and demand requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions to enhance supply chain performance.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain professionals, providing guidance and support to optimize their performance and professional development and ensure departmental objectives are met.
  • Implement and maintain best practices in inventory management, ensuring optimal inventory levels while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Collaborate with logistics partners and internal stakeholders to streamline transportation and distribution processes, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal departments, suppliers, and customers to address any supply chain issues or challenges.
  • Work directly with our operations and finance teams to identify potential opportunities and continuously improve our platform, tracking system and operational workflow.
  • Work closely with production planning and manufacturing teams to optimize production schedules and ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Maintain the warehouse GMP conditions at all times and ensure cleanliness and proper organization. Ensure GMP and good documentation practices are followed for all activities and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with current international, federal, state and local regulations including FDA, EPA, DOT, OSHA and DEA.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing innovative supply chain solutions.
  • Establish an environment that fosters diversity and encourages teamwork
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with background in Logistics, Inventory Management, Supply Chain, or related field
  • At least 7 years of progressively increasing managerial experience in pharmaceutical warehouse and supply chain management
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices, including demand planning, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
  • American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification a strong advantage
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience and knowledge of GMP and GDP
  • Ability to manage relationships with teams of Third Party fleet managers and owner operators
  • Drive and motivate to ensure every pick up and delivery is accomplished timely
  • Experience within the healthcare industry logistics would be considered a plus


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift/carry reports and materials up to 40 pounds, move about the office, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork
  • Work extended or off hours depending on the company needs (including weekends, holidays), as required
