Salary Range For This Position Is $45,000. Salary Range Is Based On Experience And Education Levels.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A Digital Pathology Technician,

This role is responsible for digitizing pathology slides for pathologist review and scoring, utilizing multiple types of digital whole slide scanners. This role will also be responsible for organizing and scanning slides for clinical assays as part of the pre-analytic laboratory operations. The three main activities of this role include assisting with specimen receiving, unpacking & organizing samples, performing scanning on multiple types of digital slide scanners in use by the department, and reviewing the generated images for quality issues, and maintaining very high standards of image quality using visual and digital assessment and processes re-scans as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • Actively displays behaviors that support the mission, vision, and values of Castle Biosciences.
• Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in science or related field preferred.

Technical Skills

• Strong computer literacy is required
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Material and Equipment Used

• Computers, Reference materials, QA policies, and Procedures.

Environmental Conditions

• Potential exposure to caustic, corrosive chemicals or bio-hazardous samples exists when in laboratory areas

• In office Monday - Friday from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.
