Job description

ANATOMIC PATHOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

2026 - 2027

Applications are invited for Anatomic Pathology Instructor position in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Successful candidate will join a subspecialized anatomic pathology division supporting the clinical and academic missions of an internationally recognized department. One year of prior fellowship training in surgical pathology or a surgical pathology subspecialty is preferred (senior residents with outstanding record of excellent diagnostic skills will also be considered). Eligibility for California licensure and for appointments to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff is required.


Position is one year in duration (consideration may be given to a second year), with independent sign-out as a full time faculty after initial brief period of supervision and proctoring, coupled with active role in resident education on a daily basis, responsibilities in an active intraoperative consultation service (Frozen Sections) and tumor board coverage, with availability of protected time on a weekly basis for preparation for educational responsibilities/ other duties as applicable.


The instructor will sign-out core surgical pathology subspecialties, with emphasis on subspecialties of interest. In addition, up to 4 weeks of elective service time are granted, which may be used for an additional subspecialty signout of personal interest.


The instructor will have the unique opportunity to work with subspecialized pathologists with substantial expertise in their fields, providing both exceptional educational as well as practical experience, emerging with the confidence of independent and competent practicing surgical pathologists in either a community or academic setting.


Instructors are employed by Beverly Pathology, an independently contracted pathology group under the Cedars-Sinai Medical Foundation. The Division of Anatomic Pathology processes over 80,000 surgical and 27,000 cytologic cases annually (both neoplastic and non-neoplastic).
