Work Hours: Full Time/Day Shift- 8am- 4:30 pm Monday-Friday
Work Location: Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL
Position Summary:
  • The Laboratory Anatomic Pathologist Assistant (PA) assists professional and technical staff and the pathologists of the Anatomic Pathology section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.
  • The PA accessions specimens for pathologist review ensuring quality is maintained, performs gross descriptions and photography for surgical and autopsy cases, performs assigned autopsies under the direction of the pathologist and provides recommendations to leadership about opportunities for improvement.
  • Employees that are successful in the role possess high attention to detail and can be relied upon for dependable and consistent work output.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in chemical or biological sciences

Experience:
  • 5 years' experience in an anatomic pathology work environment
  • Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant from the ASCP BOR
  • Knowledge of human anatomy
  • Familiarity with filing/indexing procedures
  • Working knowledge of computers; able to access files and enter data

Salary Range: Minimum 44.86/hour - Maximum 71.77/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
