The Duke Department of Pathology seeks a dynamic Anatomic Pathologist for a full-time position at Duke University in Durham, NC

The Duke Department of Pathology seeks a dynamic Anatomic Pathologist for a full-time position at Duke University in Durham, NC. Ideally this Duke Pathologist will cover at least two of the following pathology service areas: Cytopathology, Breast, Genitourinary, and/or Head and Neck. The Department of Pathology is dedicated to delivering accurate, concise, and timely pathology services to patients and their physicians.

Opportunity:

  • Join a rich training environment at Duke, with participation by students, residents, and fellows.
  • This position is based on the campus of Duke University Hospital located in Durham, North Carolina.
  • There is opportunity for teaching/resident education as well as collaboration with the predominantly subspecialty-based pathology faculty in the Department of Pathology.
  • Faculty appointment with the Duke School of Medicine at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level, Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience and/or additional training in areas of anatomic pathology, specifically breast and gynecologic pathology, and/or subspecialty fellowship training in cytopathology is preferred.
  • Candidates must have a MD or DO degree, a valid NC medical license or qualifications to obtain one, and ABP Board Certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
  • Fellowship training and/or sign out experience in the areas of desired practice is strongly preferred.
  • Ideal candidates will be excellent diagnosticians with superior communication skills who function well in a team setting.
