Job Overview: Information Technology careers involve the design, development, support and management of hardware, software, multimedia and systems integration services. The IT industry is a dynamic and entrepreneurial working environment that has a revolutionary impact on the economy and society. The IT teacher will also be responsible for sponsoring an active Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) through SkillsUSA, which enthusiastically competes in local, regional, state, and national skills competitions and events. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a "Quality Program of Study" as directed by the TDOE CCTE Department, maintain compliance with state and federal funding requirements, and provide complete, compliant, and on-time Size, Scope, and Quality Indicators (SSQI) documentation on a yearly basis. The principal may assign extra co-curricular duties, meetings, committees, and professional development throughout the school year.
Job Functions:
- Prepare teaching plans, demonstration plans, and teaching materials for all classes.
- Prepare and evaluate teaching schedule, curriculum, and teaching calendars.
- Conduct field trips, both in and out of district.
- Coordinate, maintain inventories, and keep record of the agriculture materials and equipment for classrooms and other assigned teaching areas.
- Assist students in preparing applications for proficiency awards, state and American Degrees, etc.
- Plan and attend evening activities including but not limited to: recruitment events, consulting committee meetings and awards ceremonies.
- Be willing to obtain license endorsement for transportation of students.
- Cooperate in maintaining, planning, and improving the physical facilities.
- Complete and file required reports with appropriate agencies including the State Department of Education.
