Legal Billing Specialist

Our busy law firm is looking for an experienced legal billing specialist who loves digging into detailed work that can help proofread, revise, process, and issue accurate billing in a timely manner. Job seekers should have at least 2 years of billing experience with legal billing, be meticulous and organized, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. $50,000 - $65,000

• Resolve any billing inquiries by working with the client’s accounting department
• Process incoming payments to appropriate accounts and keep precise financial records
• Review reports indicating past due accounts and follow up on when to expect payment

• Disperse regular invoices for initial review
• Amend invoices with guidance from billing manager and attorneys and finalize for distribution
• Communicate with clients professionally and calmly with empathy, understanding that our goal is to get paid but also create happy clients who refer friends and family

• Two years of experience working as in a billing specialist position at a law firm
• Meet deadlines while handling multiple projects at a time
• Superb written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are necessary for this position
• Advanced computer proficiency, especially with MS Office, Excel, and billing software programs

• High school diploma is required
• Experience with Smokeball Billing Software
