Engineer Responsibilities
Purpose:
To provide maintenance support for Temple Emanu-El, ensuring our building, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a safe condition, are clean and aesthetically pleasing, and equipment is maintained at peak operating efficiency and comply with all regulatory agencies.
Duties:
o Inspects, cleans, maintains, installs, and repairs the systems and equipment as assigned
o Support and participate in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided
o Keeps accurate, legible records of all work performed following policies and procedures
o Is responsible for maintaining the assigned duties in a safe, clean, organized, and aesthetically pleasing condition
o Assures that work orders are properly completed as assigned by the supervisor
o Must be flexible in hours worked
o Maintains good public relations by responding professionally and promptly to needs, as described by the Executive Director
o Meet with vendors that come to work on the building to ensure the vendor meets the expectations of Temple Emanu-El
Qualifications:
o High school graduate or equivalent preferred
o Prefer to have 2 years of trade work-related experience in one or more trades
o Understands and complies with NFPA and OSHA procedures and regulations
o Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
o Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
o Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
o Able to work without direct supervision
o Must possess reliable transportation
o Pass a background check
o Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status
Physical Demands:
o Stand or walk 80% of the workday
o Able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds
o Climb and balance on ladders to examine overhead equipment or piping for repairs or adjustments
o Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, wrist/arm flexion is performed 30-70% of the workday
