Job Description

This role is an office hybrid role and based in Louisville, Kentucky.

What the Role Is

The International Brand Manager is responsible for the creation, implementation and evaluation of brand-building strategy and brand programs in key international markets across a portfolio of key growth driver brands. The role will collaborate with brand teams, agency partners, cross-functional teams, the international team, and distributors on development of market and brand plans and will manage budgets and allocation of resources. This includes implementation and adaptation of global brand marketing campaigns/programs to the international market and creation of localized brand programs.

The Brand Manager will play a key part in driving brand equity by developing and implementing targeted PR and communication initiatives, advertising, promotional plans, point-of-sale, merchandising, sales tools/materials, and delivering market insights. Additionally, the role will help to drive international channel strategy and growth through the adaptation of products for the international market and development of limited edition and special packs. With the goal of accelerating international growth of key brands, this position will analyze sales and industry data to identify new opportunities and is directly responsible for the international brand marketing budget and tracking.

How You Will Spend Your Time?

  • Manage strategy development and brand positioning in key international markets to build brand equity for growth brands, including assessment of target audience opportunities, product, pricing, and promotion.
  • Lead annual brand marketing planning for each of the growth brands, collaborating with finance and international team on market and brand trends, anticipated brand volumes and budgets.
  • Steward the key growth brands by ensuring brand communications and assets within our library reflect current brand guidelines.
  • Assist with global channel plan and provide product development around line extensions and special packs to increase market penetration and brand presence, working closely with our international sales team.
  • Work cross functionally with production organization to coordinate forecasting trends, new product development, and special packaging and package changes.
  • Drive the development of effective and consistent localized marketing materials and programs by working closely with our brand team to adapt global brand identity and plans to specific markets.
  • Drive the development and implementation of effective PR, advertising, media, and event plans across the different geographies, within our global markets, in order to ensure brand awareness and best practices are shared across markets.
  • Interpret data into actions. Evaluate the performance of campaigns through continuous measurement and tracking of sales and drive action plans in response to results. Initiate market research studies and communicate findings to key stakeholders with action plans.
  • Drive sales by creating supporting documentation/ presentations/ training/ instore marketing materials for international markets.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in major promotional activities, sponsorships, and trade shows.
  • Manage the brand marketing budgets within allowance.

Who You Are…

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or master’s degree
  • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in marketing, sales, or sales promotion in a consumer goods environment
  • Experience in the beverage alcohol industry
  • Distilled spirits industry knowledge, including understanding of the distribution system, industry trends and growth factors.
  • Consumer packaged goods product marketing experience, including brand positioning and visual identity management.
  • Solid commercial thinking
  • Project management experience, acting as a self-starter with strong attention to detail and follow-through driving to action.
  • Agency management and leadership
  • Ability to collaborate and work with others, striving towards win-win solutions, motivating cross-functional brands and senior leaders, and setting agenda for brands.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Strong oral presentation and written communication skills
  • Proven business and financial acumen
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to synthesize data from multiple sources, using logic and creative reasoning to identify issues and/or approaches to problems.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel up to 15% across larger international markets/countries.

Valued but not Required Skills and Experience:

  • Global / International marketing experience
  • Dual language, preferably English/Spanish, but open to other languages

Physical Requirements

While performing duties of job, employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
