We got our start in 2011, when media system designer James Geiger began creating shading systems in his Charleston, SC home.  In his quest to marry elegance with functionality, James designed a revolutionary shading system-a system with no visible wires or screws.  James launched his first ad campaign to promote the radically minimalist R Series Shading System in 2012.  Within a few short years, J Geiger shades were in some of the nation's most exclusive homes and businesses.  Our patented hardware speaks for itself, but J Geiger craftsmanship doesn't end there.  We are a full-service provider, equipped to thoughtfully design, custom manufacture, and accurately install your shading system to ensure your expectations are met in exacting detail.

Position Summary

We have an immediate need for an exceptional Manufacturing Associate to join our highly skilled production team and play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction.  The ideal candidate is someone who strives to be the best and takes great pride in their craftsmanship.  With each project, the Manufacturing Associate will be counted on to uphold the standards of quality and innovation J Geiger and Savant are known for.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manufacturing tasks
• Learn all aspects of manufacturing, from production to light assembly of products
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Sorting and stacking wood products
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area, returning supplies and equipment to assigned locations
• Ability to read a tape measure to the 16th of an inch
• Assemble and prepare goods for shipment
• Organize inventory in an easy-to-access process
• Monitor and communicate with purchasing to insure inventory levels

• Utilize carpentry skills to build wooden pallets
• Assemble four-sided wooden boxes which then get wrapped in cardboard / flexform with the J Geiger logo.
• Cut cardboard precisely to carefully fit those boxes.
• Maintain high standard of workmanship that adheres to original plans and specifications
• Track development milestones to meet established deadlines
• Identify and address key concerns that may alter or impact production schedule
• Perform work safely by following all standards for performance
• Clean and prepare work area to eliminate potential hazards and ensure day-to-day safety
• Keep tools and equipment in good working condition

Requirements

• MUST be able to take precise measurements to within 1/16 of an inch using a standard tape measure
• MUST be able to lift 50 lbs., stand all day, bend over, lift long wooden planks and other heavy materials
• Experience maintaining and use of power/pneumatic tools
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Basic math and measurement skills
• Good interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Commitment to doing the highest quality work while putting safety first

Additional Desirable Skills

• Prior experience performing general labor, construction, basic carpentry, or framing.
• Prior experience operating a forklift.

Working Conditions

• Our facility is located at 7421 Industry Drive, North Charleston, SC 29418
• Work is performed indoors in a clean, temperature-controlled environment equipped with air conditioning.
• The work schedule is 40 hours per week Mon - Fri.  7:30am - 5:15pm.  45 min lunch with two 15 min breaks.
• Loud environment.

• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
