Plant Manager

Position Summary

The Plant Manager plans, directs and manages the production and maintenance of our Dallas Texas based Skyways operations to ensure safe and efficient operations that satisfy customer requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages value stream(s) resources through planning, direction and assignment in order to maximize efficiency in the most strategic and cost-effective way to ensure consistently strong levels of performance in meeting plant, customer and quality requirements.
• Oversees top level production schedule and works with production manager and production scheduler to create machine level schedules.
• Partners with supply chain manager to ensure material needs align with production schedules.
• Analyzes manufacturing methods and processes in determining best solutions to problems, initiates needed changes to provide for continuous improvement and meet or exceed budgeted costs.
• Assists in setting aggressive performance targets and challenging teams to consistently meet or exceed such goals.
• Works closely with the Skyways Division leadership team on developing a unified approach to achieving division goals.
• Promotes employee involvement and fosters teamwork through effective communication and recognition to create an atmosphere of mutual trust and commitment to team goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in operations, business management or equivalent level of experience.
• At least 10 + years of experience in a metal fabrication/machining manufacturing environment that is both labor and machine intensive.
• Experience with establishing foundational processes and accountability measures.
• Lean Manufacturing tools and quality improvement concepts experience.
