Enjet Aero machines and fabricates complex jet engine parts, components and assemblies for leading OEMs in the commercial, defense and general aviation sectors. Position Description: The Quality Compliance Manager reports to the Site President of Enjet Aero in Huber Heights, OH. Enjet Aero supplies complex sheet metal and machined assemblies to the commercial aerospace, military, and defense industries.

The Quality Execution Manager is responsible for leading the quality engineering function and supporting the Quality Management System. This includes all traditional quality verification activities, such as but not limited to final inspection, receiving and in-process inspection; CMM inspection activities, independent lab testing, customer and internal auditing activities, continuous improvement processes; new product introduction activities; supplier quality; scheduling of the inspection workload, and overall Quality Management System compliance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Includes all traditional quality verification activities, such as but not limited to final inspection, receiving and in-process inspection; CMM inspection activities, independent lab testing, customer and internal auditing activities, continuous improvement processes; new product introduction activities; supplier quality; scheduling of the inspection workload
  • Supervising the production process to make sure that all products meet consistent standards and specifications
  • Create, document, and implement inspection criteria and procedures
  • Developing and implementing quality control tests, inspecting products at various stages and writing reports documenting production issues
  • Manage the collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of inspection metrics
  • Provide final disposition on quality issues
  • Ensure the promotion and awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Maintains all planning and scheduling activities within the quality inspection department ensuring timely execution and assuring all quality and design requirements are conforming.
  • Performing detailed and recorded inspections of final products so the products are up to industry and company standards
  • Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data
  • Training and managing production line staff in quality assessment of goods
  • Communicate expectations to staff and observe production processes to identify the causes of common types of mistakes or defects
  • Research ways to limit human error on the production line, track the impact of different policies on defective parts
  • Performing RCCA to resolve non-conformances resulting in process or product loss
  • Customer interface of the Quality Organization for non-conformance records (NCRs)

Qualifications:

  • BSME or similar 10+ year leadership experience in sheet metal forming, welding, machining, heat treat, brazing, and assembly of a make-to-order, high mix-low volume business
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Must have strong project management skills, with PMP certification a plus
  • Knowledge of cold and warm press forming a plus, exposure to hydroforming, brazing, vacuum and solution heat treating, manual and CNC machining, TIG and Resistance Welding preferred
  • Experience leading continuous improvement a plus, with the ability to shift from a tactical to strategic mindset
  • Ability to lead and function in a team environment, while effectively communicating across various levels of the organization
  • Understanding of financial documents with ability to track part costs from quote through improvement comparisons
  • Experience with project management software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or similar)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and environment
  • Vision system and/or CMM experience a plus

An Ideal Candidate Would Bring:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills a must as realized through in resolving complex technical issues
  • Sound financial understanding, including capital management and make/buy decision processes
  • In depth knowledge of root cause and corrective action (RCCA/D3), DMAIC techniques, PDCA
  • Working knowledge of PFMEA, 6-Sigma and other advanced quality improvement tools
  • Experience with EPICOR ERP system
  • Proven new product launch success from beginning to end in a gated process
  • Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing while mentoring, coaching others in rapid problem solving/improvement
  • Identify potential roadblocks to project plan and make proper adjustments
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and communication skills; a succinct verbal and written communication style; good listener
  • Ability to lead up, down and to work well with peers; ability to push back without alienating others
