What are your responsibilities?
The Service Manager, Gas Mechanical, is responsible for planning and overseeing all gas turbine related outage activities for new and overhauled power plant equipment and systems.  This includes developing detailed outage plans, budgets, schedules, and procedures; coordinating outage teams while overseeing outage cost performance; ensuring all testing is completed successfully and meets specifications; and facilitating the transition to plant operations.   This position is remote and requires travel to customer locations. 

Essential Duties
  • Establish and maintain an onsite safety and quality program with documentation of activities.
  • Serve as the main interface for both our customers and field engineers.
  • Assist in all quotations for all service quotations for customer jobs.
  • Monitor and manage job cost performance to quote assumptions.
  • Execute and distribute service field job packages.
  • Maintain and update the field service schedule/calendar daily.
  • Maintain all job folders with correct and most up to date information.
  • Scheduling customer jobs.
  • Review, update, and edit job reports.
  • Distribute and discuss job reports to the customer.
  • Create and modify internal processes as needed.
  • Assist with vendor qualification activities for new and existing customers as needed.
  • Lead team as the onsite outage manager where needed.
  • Support Field Service project teams and engineers as required.
  • Coordinate all emergent service jobs via standard execution.
  • Provide interpretation of data and technical instructions.
  • Provide technical assistance in the identification and instruction on the use of special tools and handling equipment as needed.
  • Recommend and develop local informal training program in support of maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to resolve maintenance problems.
  • Review effectiveness of maintenance actions to identify trainings needs and improve maintenance practices.
  • Assist customers with logistical tasks including work scope reviews, maintenance scheduling, data recording, and hardware tracking.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of parts and materials for the maintenance event.
  • Manage the identification, scoping, planning, and execution of future work.
  • Minor travel will be required to attend trade shows and for customer visits.
  • Stay up to date with the latest gas turbine technologies and industry best practices. Pursue relevant ongoing training and certification.
  • Submit all reports, documentation and expense reports following the company policy.
What do you need to qualify for this role?
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering preferred. Will consider years of experience in concert with education. 
  • 10+ years of related gas turbine experience in the power generation industry.
  • Proven track record of successful power plant equipment commissioning projects.
  • Strong planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project management skills.
  • Ability to lead teams and coordinate multi-discipline activities.
  • Strong technical competencies in power plant systems and operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required by projects.
