In support of further meaningful expansion & success, TCEM Gas Marketing is actively seeking an experienced and passionate NYMEX Natural Gas Trader. You'll collaborate with our TC Energy Trading & Marketing team to design, develop and implement financial gas strategies that ensure sustainable and scalable success(es) and in support of ongoing infrastructure ambitions.
Your expertise in trading natural gas futures, swaps, and options, as well as analytical skills around fundamentals & quantitative price curve analysis will be essential to developing and maintaining both success and credibility within the Team. Knowledge of peripheral products such as Power, natural gas liquids, & International gas markets will be beneficial as the depth and breadth of the portfolio grows. You'll report into the Director, Gas Trading & Marketing, and work with an innovative team to continue building a business that has significant corporate support, backed by TC Energy's highly reputable customer standing and a solid financial base in existing gas operations.
What you'll do
  • Intentionally & methodically deploy VAR across the spectrum of tradable NYMEX Gas products, through sophisticated and balanced trading strategies
  • Price and implement Option strategies for both external and internal customers
  • Leverage the physical insight derived from a growing and ambitious L48 coverage platform to the benefit of enhanced portfolio returns
  • Support the ongoing optimization of portfolio assets and positions to maximize earnings
  • Actively contribute to the development and evolution of deep, broad & proprietary market insights
  • Collaborate cross-commodity with the Power & Liquids trading desks in order to deepen underlying trade conviction
  • Regularly interact with and support the Origination teams for both Natural Gas & Decarbonization initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, finance, or Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience determined based on level of role with proven Profit performance
  • Ability to articulate fundamentals driving the current and future natural gas market (Supply/Demand/Infrastructure) and make decisions based on this information
  • Able to conceptualize & mathematically apply risk / reward proposition to all transaction decisions and express through futures, swaps, options strategies
  • Deep knowledge of energy contracts like Futures, OTC, Options, shaped contracts, collars, and other derivatives
