DISTRIBUTION WORKER/LABORER 

Starting Pay Rate - $20.97/hr

Responsibilities

The Distribution Worker excavates, cleans, maintains and prepares gas mains throughout the city of Philadelphia.  This position is 100% outdoors and 100% shift work.  You must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and must be available to work any shift including nights, weekends and holidays.  Overtime is mandatory.  The Distribution Worker must be able to lift and manipulate heavy equipment such as jackhammers, shovels, etc.  If hired you will be assigned to locations throughout the city of Philadelphia so you must have your own transportation to work sites, this includes SEPTA.

 Operate various pneumatic tools. Manually excavate with short handle and long handle shovels. Apply protective wraps to gas mains and service pipes. Use scalers and files to clean and prepare gas mains and services for additions and replacements. Must be capable to perform heavy lifting associated with gas main construction and maintenance.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. A valid driver's license with good driving record required. A mechanical or construction background as a pipefitter, plumber's helper or similar work experience in the gas industry a plus. Capable of performing strenuous work tasks while performing in an outside work environment. Capable of passing a Company "Operations Test".Must be able to complete a One (1) Year Probationary period.

This is a Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol tested position. This position is subject to Federal drug testing requirements which includes testing for substances including but not limited to marijuana
