Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Natural Gas Distribution Foreman to lead and manage field crews in the construction, maintenance, and repair of natural gas distribution systems. The Foreman will be responsible for ensuring safe, timely, and efficient project execution in compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of construction crews working on gas utility installation and maintenance projects.
  • Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure work is performed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure job site safety and enforce compliance with OSHA, DOT, customer, and company safety standards.
  • Plan material and equipment needs; ensure timely delivery and proper use on-site.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and project management.
  • Train and mentor crew members; ensure performance expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Maintain accurate job records including daily reports, material usage, and project logs.
  • Identify and resolve site issues to minimize delays and ensure high-quality work.
  • Coordinate with utility locators and ensure proper dig permits and mark-outs are in place before work begins.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.

Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in gas utility construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong knowledge of natural gas pipeline installation, fusion techniques, trenching, and backfilling operations.
  • Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to natural gas construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license; CDL highly preferred.
  • OQ (Operator Qualification) certification required or ability to obtain.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with mobile field technology and reporting tools.
  • Attention to safety and quality.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work environment exposed to varying weather and site conditions.
  • Physically demanding, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, kneeling, standing for long periods.
  • Frequent travel to job sites within our service territory.
