Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Hartel, DeSantis & Murray, LLP, an AV-Rated Maryland litigation law firm practicing in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, seeks a full time, hardworking, detail-oriented team player to join our team. Prior legal (insurance defense), and Microsoft Office experience required, preferrably 2 years. Salary commensurate with experience. Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Subpoena medical records;
- Obtain medical records by authorizations;
- Organize/index medical records;
- Summarize medical records;
- Draft correspondence;
- Draft pleadings;
- Draft discovery;
- Draft discovery responses;
- Draft supplemental discovery responses;
- Schedule and note depositions;
- Schedule IMEs and MRRs;
- Subpoena medical records & following up on same;
- Draft letters of assurance;
- Efile documents with various courts;
- Occasional hand deliveries to courts and doctor offices;
- Conferences with clients in general
- Conferences with clients to answer discovery
- Request police reports;
- Request MVA records;
- FOIA requests;
- Enter time in case management system (minimum 120 hours per month);
- Filing and general office duties;
- Any other assignments/duties as requested.
