Human Resources and Safety Manager

Zing Recruiting, in partnership with a prominent client in Jackson, MS within the steel industry is seeking a Human Resources and Safety Manager to join their team!

HR and Safety Manager Job Summary:

$80-90K
55% bonus opportunity
Lead and direct the routine functions of the HR department including interviewing and hiring staff, administering pay, benefits, leave, enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining a documented safety plan, reporting required data to various agencies, and proactively reviewing processes to prevent accident or injuries
Partners with management teams to understand and execute the organizations HR and talent strategy as it relates to current and future staffing needs
Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when specialized complex, and sensitive questions and issues arise
Administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Analyze trends in compensation and benefits
Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities
Champions annual performance review process

HR and Safety Manager Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
5+ years of Human Resources and Safety Management experience
Experience in a union environment
OSHA and SHRM certification preferred
Experience with labor unions and negotiations
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
