NOVO Health Services is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated HR Safety Manager to support our Louisville, KY facility. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization and play a key role in supporting plant operations through strategic human resources leadership and safety management initiatives.
The HR Safety Manager will partner closely with plant leadership to support recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, safety programs, workforce planning, and employee engagement initiatives within a fast-paced industrial healthcare laundry environment.
Key Responsibilities
Human Resources & Employee Relations
  • Lead recruiting and retention efforts for the facility
  • Pre-screen applications and resumes for plant and operational positions
  • Coordinate interviews, reference checks, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding activities
  • Provide HR guidance, coaching, and support to managers and supervisors
  • Support employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management processes up to and including termination
  • Manage unemployment claims and employee personnel files
  • Support corporate HR initiatives and ensure consistent policy administration
  • Oversee attendance tracking and workforce staffing support
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all employee matters
  • Assist with benefit administration and employee engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate employee recognition programs and internal communications

Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture throughout the facility
  • Conduct monthly plant safety audits and ensure follow-up on corrective actions
  • Lead accident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
  • Manage OSHA compliance, including OSHA 300 logs and incident reporting
  • Coordinate workers' compensation cases and return-to-work processes
  • Facilitate all plant safety training, including onboarding and annual refresher training
  • Ensure compliance with company safety programs, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, HAZCOM, fall protection, and other regulatory requirements
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and plant-wide safety communication initiatives
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to proactively identify and reduce workplace hazards

Operational Support
  • Partner with Operations leadership to support staffing plans and operational needs
  • Attend and participate in regularly scheduled management meetings
  • Assist with administrative support for distribution and operational teams as needed
  • Support plant communication initiatives including newsletters, announcements, recognition boards, and employee engagement activities
  • Represent NOVO Health Services at job fairs and community events

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of progressive HR experience; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Experience supporting safety initiatives within a manufacturing, industrial, distribution, or operational environment
  • Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, and workplace compliance
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to work independently while partnering collaboratively with plant leadership
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems such as Workday

Preferred
  • Experience supporting OSHA compliance and safety programs
  • Experience within manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, industrial laundry, or distribution operations
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus
