ORGANIZATION MISSION:

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast is to provide high-quality, out-of-school Club experiences to ensure our young people, especially those who need us most, are on track to graduate from high school with a plan for their future, demonstrate good character & citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Prosperity Pathways Specialist will provide direct services to students with an emphasis on workforce readiness, career development, and academic success within designated Pinellas County middle and high schools. They will assist the Prosperity Pathways Counselor with enrichment activities, including professional development while seeking ways to develop and maintain practical approaches to build relationships with both students and school personnel. Must be available during high school hours, 7:00am-3pm Monday-Friday.



Requirements:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement designated Prosperity Pathways programs and activities that support workforce readiness and academic success outcomes.

• Encourage participants to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program area(s).

• Ensure successful implementation and participation in Prosperity Pathways programs resulting in a decrease in disciplinary referrals and school suspensions with an increase in school attendance and academic success.

• May consult with parents concerning participant issues.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and policy manuals.

• Ability to problem solve, define areas that need improvement, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Bilingual preferred

• Must be available during high school hours, 7:00am-3pm Monday-Friday

• Knowledge of the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast; including the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.

• Valid driver’s license and approved to drive by our insurance carrier.

• Minimum of one year’s experience working with middle and high school aged children preferred.

• Knowledge of youth development.

• Proven record with planning and implementing quality programing for youth.

• Must be CPR & First Aid Certified; we will provide training upon hire if not currently certified.


TRAVEL:

Travel will be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Pinellas County for training and/or other business purposes.
