Job Description
Human Resource Generalist
Location: Concord, CA
Pay Range: $25-34/hr
Full-Time/Onsite: Mon – Fri 8:30 to 5 pm
6-month Temporary Contract
We are urgently hiring an HR Generalist with 4 plus years of hands-on experience to cover a leave of absence with our nonprofit healthcare client. In this important role, you will provide essential support in all aspects of HR operations, with a focus on HRIS management, work comp administration, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) initiatives, and generating insightful reports.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual with a passion for HR and a proven track record of solid HR Generalist experience. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will have the opportunity to not only support day-to-day HR functions but also to actively assist in shaping culture and inclusivity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage HRIS processes, including data entry, updates, and report generation to support decision-making.
  • Administer workers' compensation programs and ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Actively participate in DEI meetings, contribute to content creation and updates, and support diversity initiatives within the organization.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for surveys and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  • Serve as a proactive member of safety committees, fostering a culture of safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Provide generalist support, including benefits administration, employee gifting programs, onboarding, and exit interviews.

Qualifications:
  • Four of more years of HR Generalist experience with a focus on HRIS management, work comp administration, and DEI initiatives.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, with a demonstrated ability to enter and manipulate data, and generate reports.
  • Strong understanding of state and federal labor laws, compensation and benefits administration, and workers' compensation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering a respectful workplace culture.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR management or related field preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
