Assistant Project Manager (Onsite Denver, Colorado)
Responsible for obtaining bids, procuring, assisting with contract formulation, managing the tracking of submittals and delivery of supplies and subcontract labor, and ensuring that design and delivery criteria are met within budget and on time.
Reports to: Operations Managers, Project Executive, or Project Manager
No Direct Reports
More than six years of experience in commercial, industrial, or process plant building. Field expertise with sitework, structural concrete, vertical buildings, MEP, and tenant finishes is necessary.
A college degree in construction management or a comparable engineering field is necessary.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Assist with soliciting, purchasing, contracting, coordinating, and ensuring design compliance for all project materials in accordance with project requirements, including standard Company purchasing agreements.
- Assist in soliciting, procuring, subcontracting, coordination, and ensuring design requirements compliance for all project labor and subcontract work in accordance with Company standards, including standard Company subcontracting agreements.
- Ensure compliance with all Company standards, procedures, and practices in the execution of Project Engineering work.
- Assist the PM in ensuring compliance and interacting with project material submission needs, such as shop drawings, catalogue cuts, samples, and mock-ups. Create and manage a submission schedule and log.
- Assist PM in coordinating with Project Designer on material interfaces and design/specification needs.
- Coordinate with the Project Superintendent on project timing and delivery requirements; inventory deliveries and/or check manifests for appropriate reception and report deficiencies or damage.
- Assist PM in preparing meeting minutes, phone calls, and weekly reports for review by PM/supervisor.
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing monthly invoices, pay applications, IORs, and other control items as assigned by the PM/supervisor. Assist the Project Superintendent in enforcing all business safety rules and procedures. Report any inconsistencies to the Superintendent.
- Assist PM in ensuring that all buying operations are within the project budget and cost control constraints.
- Conduct yourself in a polite manner when dealing with all parties, including the customer, subcontractors, craftsmen, suppliers, and other service providers.
