Plant Operator

R.W. Sidley of Thompson, OH is actively seeking full-time Plant Operators who have skid steer skills, greasing skills, and communication skills to assist plant operations and customers with their stone/sand material needs, as well as assist with work around the plant. Our Plant Operator position starts at $20-$26.00/hour, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PLANT OPERATOR

As a Plant Operator in our impressive quarry operation, you are the lifeline for golf courses, filtration plants, and general contractors who are in need of stone/sand for their project. You and your fellow operator team members are the face of our plant operations for most of our third-party haulers delivering out material to our customers. You are quite literally the main reason they choose to buy material from R.W. Sidley!

Plant operators may use various types of plants (crushers, screeners, dryers, conveyors, skid steers) and if you prove your skillset can work up to operating heavy equipment, including: Loaders, Bulldozers, Backhoes, Excavators, Forklifts, and more

When plant issues arise you are there to help get the plant up and running as soon as possible. Your team can count on you!

This would include cleaning up tail pulleys with shovel or hose, greasing plant, running skid steer to clean up things, making sure all the pieces of the plant are running as they should, and helping to fix them when they are not. You may be needed to help with general tasks in our bagging/production facility, and since you have a wide-ranging skillset, you will be able to contribute in many areas.

You work closely with the Operations Manager to determine what various tasks you'll be doing, what repairs need made, what product needs handled, etc. Sometimes it's as simple as moving material from one location to another. But other times you need to use your communication skills to listen to where the Operations Manager needs you to go and do what they need you to do. When you're not making a plant run efficiently, there's plenty of opportunity to complete maintenance around the plant, make sure your plant area is clean, and even operate some heavy equipment. You are all about listening to your Operations Manager and helping in any way you can.
