Medical Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and organized medical assistant to join a fast-paced allergy clinic. You will play a vital role in assisting the allergist with patient care, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation.

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and prepare examination rooms.
• Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration).
• Update patient medical histories.
• Assist the allergist during examinations.
• Prepare allergy medications and injections by measuring out doses prior to administering to patients.
• Administer allergy skin tests and monitor for reactions.
• Provide patient education on allergy management, medications, and avoidance strategies.
• Collect blood or skin prick test samples for allergy testing.
• Maintain treatment room with necessary supplies and ensure cleanliness.
• Maintain and ensure the sterility of medical equipment.
• Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
• Update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR).
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
• Keep the clinic clean and organized.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) strongly preferred, but candidates with a combination of 5 years of relevant experience and education will also be considered.
• 3 years of experience in a medical assisting role is required but if you are not a certified or registered MA you will need 5 years of experience.
• Experience in allergy practice a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and time management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in computer skills and EMR software.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach.
• Must read, write, and speak in English & Spanish.
