Control Panel Builder

Baton Rouge, Louisiana: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Control Panel Assembler to join our team. This position focuses on the assembly and fabrication of custom automation control panels for industrial applications. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in the industrial or power industry, with specific skills in electrical and instrumentation fields. This role involves working indoors in an air-conditioned shop, with less than 10% travel required. The selected candidate will be cross-trained in drafting and design, contributing to various stages of control panel production, including building, wire stripping, and assembling.
 
Essential Duties:
• Assemble, wire, and test custom automation control panels in accordance with schematic and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Understand and apply relay logic and electronic controls for industrial equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Ensure quality work is completed safely and within production schedules.
• Be actively involved in the labeling, layout, setup, and wiring of control panels.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
 
Requirements/Skills:
• 3+ years’ experience in the industrial or power industry, focusing on electrical and instrumentation.
• 1+ years of shop experience with fabrication and testing of control system panels.
• Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical, and electronic symbols.
• Capable of reading and understanding CAD drawings of mechanical assemblies.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and small power tools for assembly.
• Strong mechanical and electrical background.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Team-oriented with a collaborative approach to work.
• AutoCAD experience is beneficial.
 
Physical Requirements:
• The position is primarily indoor work in an air-conditioned environment.
• Involves manual dexterity for handling small tools and panel components.
 
Benefits:
• Salary range: $45,000 to $55,000 based on experience.
• Full-time position with an expected 40 – 60 hours per week.
