Purpose and Description

Responsible for Marketing and Placement of New Business Commercial Accounts (mostly select and middle markets) with a focus on underwriting risk with appropriate market alignment. This includes underwriting all new business submissions for completeness and accuracy as well as reviewing for precise coverage offerings. Required to work with Account Executives and Account Managers through the life cycle of a new account from submission to Marketing and Placement to assigning account in the commercial lines department. May also include from time to time whole account renewal marketing

Essential Job Functions

1. Supporting the Account Executives in marketing new business opportunities for both prospects and existing clients to achieve annual sales targets and goals.

1. Responsible for owning and managing the new business Marketing and Placement pipeline for small and middle market submissions. Owns the review of each new business submission for completeness and accuracy in compliance with the Cabot Standard Submission.

1. Overseeing the Cabot Submission email in box.

1. Responsible for each new business submission, and marketing to carriers through RAIS MapstTrak, directly to carrier underwriters or on carrier portals.

1. Building and maintaining strong working relationships with carrier partners specifically marketing reps and underwriters with a preference to the core markets.

1. Generate new business proposals and quote comparisons for Account Executive client meeting presentations.

1. Negotiating terms and conditions and reworking consistency of terms.

1. Duties include managing new business marketing files, initial account set up and data entry into agency management system (AMS 360).

1. Generating ACORD applications in AMS 360 from gathered information during Account Executive’s prospect meetings

1. Monitor the New Business submission procedures, recommending required changes or enhancements as necessary.

1. Solid understanding of commercial insurance products and coverage.

1. Maintains a high degree of accuracy.

1. Keeps supervisor advised of market changes and conditions.

1. Responds to requests and needs promptly and courteously.

1. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

The following are required to enable the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.

1. Skills/knowledge – Superior analytical ability and judgment required for position. Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be self-motivated and maintain a positive attitude. Knowledge of Database, spreadsheet and word processing software is preferred.

1. Experience/education – Current MA Producers license with minimum of three years of Commercial Lines experience required. Industry designation such as CIC is preferred.
