Job Overview

The Senior International Logistics Coordinator is an individual contributor responsible for the execution and communication of goods ordered and transported from international manufacturers into our US-based distribution center.


What you can do for us…

· Coordinate logistics needs with external customs broker, freight forwarder, and drayage carrier.

· Track and trace containers from origin to destination and communicate any delays to all parties involved.

· Approve production bookings from origin forwarder/agents with direction from the production team.

· Ensure production orders and documentation are in compliance with customs requirements for import to the United States.

· Review import broker/custom documentation (knowledge of HTS codes is helpful but not required) on a regular basis

· Coordinate schedules and approve delivery appointments with drayage carriers and receiving warehouse from port to company for smooth inbound receiving

· Communicate with affiliated departments and teams regarding timelines for incoming production shipments and container loads.

· Review and approve freight invoices, input cost into system, research discrepancies, and identify resolution plans.

· Create and manage period reports that summarizes cost, volume, flow, etc data

· Create and manage ad hoc reports and analyses regarding international logistics as needed

· Perform ad hoc international bulk shipments of special business transactions

· Quotes pricing for all inbound and outbound international shipments at the request of all internal depts

· Explore options for new partners and recommend cost saving opportunities and collect and present feedback to our current partners to improve service

· Assess long term-ocean freight rates via contract vs spot market

· Coordinate international outbound shipments

· Complete import compliance manual and ensure annual updates are added

· Deliver freight report to accounting and accessorial cost report to Ops Leadership

· Maintain communication with front office regarding all international outbound shipping

· Train additional logistics dept staff members as needed

Requirements:

Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience

· 2-4 years of international logistics and transportation planning experience

· Working knowledge of an ERP system helpful

· Freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and drayage carrier experience.

· Proficiency in Excel

· Excellent written skills with strong attention to detail

· Critical thinking and logic to make quick and business-appropriate decisions

· Ability to multi-task and complete work to meet multiple deadlines simultaneously

· The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

· Ability to work in open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.

· Ability to work on computer and mobile phone for multiple hours; with frequent interruptions.

· Required to use stairwells to attend meetings and engage with employees on multiple floors throughout building.

Compensation

Starting base pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
