3rd Shift Chemical Operator

The Process Technician initiates the manufacturing process and keeps things moving smoothly throughout the day and the week. Process Technicians utilize raw materials for mixing and pasteurizing custard and flavor bases.  “Hold” tanks are used to store the product and bases until it is transferred to the flavor vats in the production room. 

a.      Transports raw materials from storage to process areas by forklift, pallet jack, hand cart, or by hand.

b.     Loads and moves product to appropriate staging areas.

c.      Transports and disposes of used ingredient packaging.

d.     Records lot numbers of all ingredients used for the sake of traceability.

e.      Sets up mixer and pasteurizer to mix and pasteurize ice cream bases per recipe.

f.       Uses Human Machine Interface (HMI) panel to pump exact amounts of product to be mixed.

g.      Prepares ingredients to mix bases in the high shear mixer, while following precise recipes.

h.     Pasteurizes and cools product by utilizing a vat pasteurizer and verifying/marking the pasteurizer chart recorder. 

 Experience:  Two (2) years of experience in a similar job focused on processing in food manufacturing environment.

 Licensure & Certifications: Forklift certification

 Education:  High School diploma or GED
