ShuBrew is a family owned brewery and restaurant owned by two locals, Erika and Zachary Shumaker, who both grew up north of Pittsbugh. We both LOVE FOOD AND BEER, which inspired us to open our brewpub in 2013. Over the last ten years, we have created a fun, relaxing, and fulfilling work environment that welcomes anyone and everyone into our family. We listen to our employees and were able to retain all of our full time staff during the pandemic and did not lay anyone off or take away healthcare. We respect our employee feedback and are willing to give anyone a chance. We are looking someone with a creative mind and passion for food to join our kitchen team who will be working alongside our Chef on a regular basis. Professional kitchen experience is preferred, but a good attitude and interest in food will be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen operations
-Work on the line in kitchen alongside co-workers
- Oversee food preparation and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create new and innovative menu items
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food handling procedures
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure functionality and safety
- Assist in scheduling and managing kitchen staff shifts
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team
- Extensive knowledge of kitchen operations and food service management
- Proficient in culinary techniques and food preparation methods
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures

Salary: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
