Job Description

Reporting directly to the Director of Facilities, the Facilities Manager will provide oversight and management for the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and activities of the Facilities Department. The Facilities Manager will exercise good judgment in troubleshooting and solving equipment malfunctions, maintaining a planned maintenance program, supervise and operate within the property and department policies/procedures.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage facility services for the building(s), parking garages and grounds, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Full oversight and management of internal CMMS system, responsible for prioritizing work orders, distributing to teams for completion, and monitoring progress. on KPI’s to
  • Aid the engineering staff when troubleshooting repairs.
  • Communicate with the customer(s) as needed to provide follow up on work requests.
  • Assist with coordinating all safety training and keeping records up to date for all team members.
  • Conduct daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual inspections of equipment as needed to maintain compliance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facility operations.
  • Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of team members, provides, and identifies training and development opportunities, recommends corrective actions when appropriate and interviews/recommends candidates for hire and/or internal promotion or transfer.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of annual operating budget.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Develops a strong working relationship with all department leadership to ensure unity and consistent direction.
  • Maintains knowledge of all building systems, emergency shut-off valves, emergency management responders, etc., to appropriately react in a crisis.
  • Assists with ensuring the implementation and audit of inventory and cost control systems and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (4 hours)
  • Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions when handling team member conflicts.
  • Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing dust, loud noises, and bright lights.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage several projects, and not be frustrated by changing priorities and unforeseen obstacles to achieving objectives.
  • Ability to speak distinctly and persuasively.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Education and Experience:

  • Occupationally significant combination of vocational education, apprentice training, in-plant training and/or on-the-job training.
  • Must possess effective communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Two to four years in Engineering or related area, with progressive supervisory/ managerial experience required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Required Certification/License:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Ohio Casino Gaming Employee (CGE) License
