POSITION SUMMARY

Assist in researching, designing, developing and driving manufacturing processes to support improvements, customer needs and production. Processes include but are not limited to sheet metal fabrication, machining, assembly, and heat treating.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in researching, designing, developing and driving manufacturing processes to support improvements, customer needs and production.
  • Provide day-to-day technical support to the production processes, generate cost reduction and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • May gather technical/customer requirements, assist with design for manufacturability (DFM) efforts with detailed labor/material cost calculations.
  • Create and maintain bill of material and routing date in the enterprise resource planning system.
  • Create and manage project timelines.
  • Interface and confer as necessary with production employees, supervisors, engineers, quality management, suppliers and customers to develop and understand/refine a common understanding of technical requirements and needs.
  • Confer with management, engineering and other applicable departments regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • May identify material, tooling and equipment as necessary to support manufacturing processes.
  • Provide feedback on product drawings, manufacturing instructions and work instructions for new products, machining, fabrication, assembly fixtures and tooling.
  • Collaborate on plans, schedules and timelines to manage new product introduction launch and transition to production process.
  • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, and accepts constructive feedback.
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum one (1) year manufacturing experience or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Experience manufacturing with exotic metals preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control preferred.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Understand verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle workflow.
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules and apply general rules to specific problems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.

Pay Rate: The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience with the industry, education, geographic location, etc.
