Job Description

We are seeking a Wine Director to manage the wine program at a Fine Dining Steakhouse. As the Wine Director, you will be responsible for curating and managing an exceptional wine program that complements the concept's culinary offerings. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of wines, a strong palate, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Key Responsibilities:

Wine Selection and Procurement
Curate an extensive and diverse wine list that aligns with the restaurant's culinary concept and caters to the preferences of our guests.
Establish relationships with reputable wineries, distributors, and suppliers to ensure a well-curated and unique wine selection.
Manage inventory levels, order fulfillment, and negotiate pricing to maximize profitability.
Staff Training and Development
Conduct regular training sessions for service staff to enhance their knowledge of wine, including grape varieties, regions, and food pairings.
Foster a culture of excellence in wine service, emphasizing customer engagement, and providing recommendations tailored to individual preferences.
Wine Service
Oversee the seamless execution of wine service, ensuring proper storage, decanting, and presentation.
Work closely with the culinary team to develop wine pairings that enhance the overall dining experience.
Guest Relations
Act as the resident wine expert, engaging with guests to recommend wines based on their preferences and the menu.
Host special wine events, tastings, and dinners to elevate the guest experience and promote the restaurant's wine program.

Qualifications:

At least 2+ years of Sommelier experience in a fine dining, high volume environment
In-depth knowledge of global wine regions, varietals, and vintages.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lead and inspire a team of service professionals.
Level 2 certified Sommelier Court of Masters is a plus
