LPN/RN

This position is a contract position. It is at least a 1 year contract and may renew. This position is for the upcoming 2024 school year.

• (5) One to One LPN's or RN's licensed in North Carolina (Wake County School District)
• CPR and BLS certified experience
• Experienced in providing the type of Nursing care that an individual students requires.
• The LPN's should be skilled and experienced in meeting medical needs of individual students who require services in order to ensure their well being and safety during the educational nursing care may be required during the following times.
• Transport to/from school
• During times that the student is on school grounds
• During in-class instruction and activities
• During PE and recess during field trips and school related events.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create a medical plan of care
• Follow physician ordered treatment plans
• Implement physician ordered clinical interventions including ventilator care, tracheostomy care and feeding for example.
• Monitor and assess the mental and medical needs of the students.
• Oversee the health status of the students, including checking vitals/blood pressure, temperature, for example
• Address immediate medical needs of the students. assist with mobility sitting and engagement as needed.
• Manage medical equipment and technology. administer medications and treatments. change dressings, bandages and equipment as prescribed by physician.
• Assist with self care and classroom routines.
• Assist with toileting.
• Employ emergency care and contact 911 as appropriate.
• Collaborate with family and medical providers.
• Document treatment notes that include start and end times each day. Complete and verify timesheets.
• Follow North Carolina Board of nursing practice acts including technical and ethical guidelines/statutes.
