Human Resources Generalist

Concordia University Chicago is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Human Resources Generalist. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for faculty salary and adjunct contract management, the data integrity of the HRIS, and compliance reporting. This role partners with the payroll department on a daily basis to maintain HRIS deduction and earnings changes, participates in recruitment, the student worker process, administers leaves, and coordinates training.

Responsibilities/Duties:

The Human Resources Generalist will be knowledgeable of all university-related human resources initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: accurate maintenance of HRIS entries and changes; issuing adjunct contracts, maintaining faculty salary spreadsheet, orientation for new adjuncts, faculty and staff, new hire documentation for domestic and international employees, including background checks, Affordable Care Act compliance reporting and tax preparation, benefits processing and open enrollment coordination, learning management systems, worker's compensation/unemployment and customer service for payroll related questions.

Skill Sets:

Must have excellent organizational and customer service skills. Must be a critical thinker, a team player and capable of high productivity in an ever changing environment. Desirable experience includes a working knowledge of Banner HR (university HRIS) and Argos; benefits administration; ACA reporting and form generation; professional HR training and/or certification; experience in staff training and development; prior experience in Human Resources administration.

Minimum Experience Required:

3 years of HR operations and HRIS experience, a strong working knowledge of employment law, and a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Access, in particular).

Education Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in HR, business or a related field
