This position will ensure the radio related equipment spaces on location are fully functional, well organized, comfortable, tested, clean and able to operate in a highly efficient manner to the satisfaction of the Station Manager. They will inventory parts and equipment and document all activities. Cleaning and organizing the space is a primary focus and will be continuous.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cleaning, organizing, and inventorying radio and tech related equipment, parts, and spaces.
- Procure and manage supplies and equipment and thorough cleaning of station equipment and related components.
- Maintain exceptional hygiene standards in and around work areas, maintenance areas, and restroom facilities.
- Source raw materials, review suppliers, and store raw materials and finished goods in a well-organized manner.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job has no personnel supervisory responsibilities. Will report to the Director of Radio Operations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Required:
- General Class Ham radio license.
- Possess a heightened mechanical aptitude.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality with all duties and functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Able to successfully utilize the internet for procurement and research.
- Organized with good housekeeping habits mandatory.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Creative and enjoys working with your hands.
- Able to operate safely in a shop or lab environment.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with intermittent direct supervision.
- Able to adapt to variables in the work environment and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Able to meet deadlines, organized and efficient in thought and actions.
- Would enjoy learning something new and being part of a research and development team.
- Willing to work after hours or when ideal communicating conditions are present.
Nice to have:
- Extra amateur radio license a plus.
- IT or Machining background a plus.
- Experience with HF and VHF frequencies a plus.
- Ability to solder and construct circuit boards and coaxial cable assemblies a plus.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and multiyear experience related to radios is encouraged.
