Travis Association for the Blind/Austin Lighthouse (TAB) a non-profit organization, was founded in 1934 by Dr. Henry L. Hilgartner and other civic-minded citizens of Austin to provide a setting where blind men and women could come to learn skills and create products that were sold door to door.

Today, Travis Association for the Blind stays true to the mission established in 1934 by providing opportunities for economic and personal independence for people who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf blind by creating, sustaining, and improving employment. We continue to grow and expand the services we provide to blind Texans.

Job Summary

The National Sales Executive- Federal Sales (NAM-Fed) is responsible for supporting the Travis Association for the Blind (TAB) mission by generating revenue and new lines of business. (Based on US East Coast with a focus on Federal Business)

The candidate must reside on the US East Coast.

An ideal candidate would be retired military and have janitorial (JanSan) product sales experience.

Responsibilities

· Contact regular and prospective federal and state use government customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and sell products.

· Maximize business performance and exceed revenue goals

· Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.

· Answer customers' questions about products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.

· Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates.

· Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.

· Provide customers with product samples and catalogs.

· Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.

· Prepare drawings, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs.

· Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.

· Perform administrative duties, such as preparing sales budgets and reports, keeping sales records, and filing expense account reports.

· Prepare sales contracts and order forms.

· Negotiate details of contracts and payments.

· Forward orders to warehouse.

· Arrange and direct delivery of products.

· Complies with and understands TAB's policies and procedures.

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree preferred or prior experience in successful sales role

· Minimum of 4 years' experience in a sales role.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Salesforce super user

· Demonstrated sales leader

· Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

· Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

· Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

· Critical thinking

· Judgment and Decision Making

· Persuading others to change their minds

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent customer service skills

· Strong ethics and discretion with confidential or sensitive information

· Able to read, comprehend and understand information and ideas presented in writing or in alternative form

· Possesses cultural awareness and sensitivity.

· Employees, departments, managers, executives, vendors, federal customers/prospects, community members

Decision Making/Judgment Required

· Makes decisions as per Standard Operation Procedures and Company Policies

Physical Requirements

With or without reasonable accommodation, employees in this position must be able to:

· Travel is required (20%)

· Prolonged periods of working on a computer and communication via phone.

· Ability to be in a stationary position (stand/sit) for 4-8 hours

· Ability to use standard office equipment, such as but not limited to, phone, printer, scanner.
