About the Company: 

 

Established in 1994, East Bay Innovations (EBI) is a nonprofit human services organization that supports people with developmental disabilities, such as intellectual disabilities, autism, and cerebral palsy. Our person-centered services support people in living in their own homes, making choices about how they live, working in jobs of their choosing, and enjoying being part of their communities. We seek to further the human rights and empowerment of people with disabilities and hire people who care about social justice and want to make a difference in the lives of others.

 

Director of Community Day Supports overview:

 

Under the Director of Community Day Supports, EBI operates a unique one-to-one staff-to-client ratio community-based day program. Currently, it serves 11 consumers with significant physical and health needs. The program focuses on supporting consumers in activities and interests in the community (e.g., yoga, adaptive biking, swimming at the YMCA, music therapy, and art therapy). 

 

Requirements of the role: A driver with a reliable vehicle and a valid California driver's license and the ability to provide backup direct support, including lifting, transferring, and personal care for consumers.

 

Schedule:  Full-time, Salaried, Non-Bargaining Team Position, Monday-Friday 7 AM-6 PM Flex

 

Locations: Oakland, Berkeley, Emeryville, Albany, Hayward, Castro Valley, and San Leandro

 

Commitment: Willing to make a 3-year commitment to the Director of Community Day Supports role.

 

Special Skills and Knowledge: An understanding and commitment to the philosophy of integration, normalization, and consumer-driven services.  Ability to work cooperatively with consumers, their support systems, co-workers, and other agencies.  Ability to solve problems both independently and as part of a team.  Possession of a valid California driver’s license, a driving record that meets agency standards, auto insurance, and access to a vehicle.

 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in human services (exception made by Executive Director)

 

Experience: A minimum of five years experience providing services to individuals with disabilities, including a minimum of two years as a supervisor or manager in a human service agency. 


Salary Range: $70,000-80,000 Annually
