Press Assistant (Remote)
THE ROLE:
As a Press Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the NextGen America communications team in organizing, drafting, and disseminating information to partners and members of the press. This role requires a strong ability to draft various communications materials, a keen eye for media monitoring, and collaborative approach to working with your teammates. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about communications and media relations to gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

WHAT YOU’LL ACHIEVE:
- Draft briefing memos for spokesperson interviews.
- Draft talking points for NextGen spokespeople.
- Take first pen to national communications like press releases, rapid response statements, ICYMI, and more.
- Pull and send daily clips to NextGen Communications team and leadership.
- Pull TV clips through TVEyes and other sources.
- Send weekly round up of earned media hits
- Join partner calls and take detailed notes as needed
- Work closely with the Executive Assistant to our Executive Directors to support scheduling and coordination on calendar
ABOUT YOU:
- This is an entry level position.
- Able and willing to work outside of normal business hours as needed, to support the Communications team in responding to news stories, media hits, etc.
- Has worked in a newsroom, press shop, or communications team.
- Is a strong writer and able to adapt to different people’s voices.
- Has excellent organizational skills.
- Has the ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and deadlines.
- Driven with a strong work ethic.
- Enjoys working on a team.
SALARY INFORMATION:
The starting salary range for this position is $62,000-$67,000. The final base salary will be determined by various factors, including individual qualifications and internal parity, which will be objectively assessed during the interview process.
