3.0 Position Summary

To coordinate and perform all functions related to Accounts Payable.

4.0 Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma required. College courses in accounting preferred and 3 years accounts payable experience.

• Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills.

• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

5.0 Fitness for Duty-physical Demands

• Refer to Appendix 1 of Section 2.1.2a of the Safety Manual, Medical Evaluations for details on Fit for Duty – Physical Demands for this position.

• The ability to perform all tasks listed is a requirement for this job description.

6.0 Responsibilities

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

• Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment term.

• Reconcile vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.

• Enter data into the Accounting System and produce corresponding reports.

• Correspond with vendors to ensure payments are sent in a timely manner.

• Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

• Assist in month end closing and other projects as needed.

• Respond to and/or escalate internal & external customer inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
