Job Description

Job Title: Surgical Counselor

Reports To: Assistant Center Director

Location: Bellevue, WA

Schedule: Full-Time, M-F

Travel: Not Required

Our surgical counselor is highly organized with the ability to plan and prioritize work for optimal efficiency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Counsel patients on treatment options.

  2. Act as a liaison between patients and providers.

  3. Track and follow up with patients who have not scheduled.

  4. Track all future candidates and follow up accordingly.

  5. Communicate telephonically with patients regarding scheduling.

  6. Coordinate ICL lens selection and ordering.

  7. Distribute review texts to patients.

  8. Assist with front office overflow.

  9. Execute core processes.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience:

High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. At least one year of experience as an ophthalmic, optometric, or medical technician preferred.

Language Ability:

Fluency of the English language. Excellent oral and written comprehension and expression. Speech clarity and recognition. Active learning and listening. Ability to respond to common inquiries and provide information to patients and colleagues. Good interpersonal skills.

Math Ability:

Ability to use mathematical methods or formulas for related medical and scientific measurements and calculations. Ability to calculate percentages. Ability to compile, tabulate, or verify information or data.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to collect data and establish facts. Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Ability to use logic. Ability to identify information by categorizing and recognizing differences or similarities.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office Suite, Email, Calendar and Scheduling Software, Medical Software, Internet, Data Entry

Certificates and Licenses:

None required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may supervise and/or assist employees relative to specific tasks or projects, but has no direct reports.

Work Environment:
