In a workplace context, 'Centers' typically refer to specialized departments or facilities within an organization that focus on specific functions or services. These can include call centers, data centers, research centers, or community centers, each serving a unique purpose such as customer support, information management, research activities, or community engagement. The structure and responsibilities of a center depend on its type and the needs of the organization. Centers are often designed to streamline operations, centralize expertise, and improve efficiency in their focus area.

Job description

Center Manager – European Wax Center

Pacific Beach or Santee | $21/Hour + Uncapped Performance Pay

Lead a team that likes to win—and likes working together.

Our locally owned European Wax Center group includes two San Diego County locations: Pacific Beach and Santee. Together, our teams serve nearly 3,000 guests each month and have earned national recognition for top performance.

What makes our centers different is the culture behind those results:

High standards. Honest communication. Strong support. No unnecessary drama.

We work hard, celebrate wins, address challenges directly, and invest in helping people grow. Our managers explain the why, not just the what, and understand that accountability and kindness belong on the same team.

We are looking for a Center Manager who can develop great people, deliver an outstanding guest experience, and take ownership of the center’s results.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Base pay: $21.00 per hour
  • Uncapped biweekly and monthly performance-based pay
  • Current performance pay averages approximately $10,000 annually
  • Average total annual compensation of approximately $53,700, based on a 40-hour workweek and current performance-pay results
  • Overtime compensation when applicable
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Complimentary waxing services
  • 40% discount on our exclusive product portfolio
  • Leadership training and ongoing support
  • Full-time, non-exempt position

Performance-based compensation varies according to achieved results and is not guaranteed.

What You’ll Own
  • Recruit, select, onboard, and retain outstanding team members
  • Coach Wax Specialists and Guest Service Associates toward individual and center goals
  • Create a workplace where people feel supported, appreciated, and accountable
  • Lead service, wax pass, reservation, guest-retention, and retail performance
  • Review center results and turn the numbers into clear action plans
  • Build effective schedules around guest demand and responsible labor management
  • Address performance concerns directly, respectfully, and promptly
  • Protect an exceptional guest experience and a clean, organized center
  • Partner with senior leadership and the manager of our other San Diego center
The Leader We’re Looking For

You may be a strong fit if you:

  • Have successfully led, coached, or developed a team
  • Know how to motivate different personalities without lowering expectations
  • Communicate clearly during both good news and difficult conversations
  • Enjoy working toward measurable sales and performance goals
  • Look ahead and solve staffing or operational needs before they become emergencies
  • Develop capable team members instead of trying to do everything yourself
  • Bring positive energy, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through

Management experience in retail, beauty, wellness, fitness, hospitality, or another service-focused business is preferred. Beauty-industry or European Wax Center experience is helpful, but not required.

Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site leadership position. Availability must include a reasonable mix of opening, closing, weekend, and peak-business shifts.

Ready to Lead With Us?

Submit your resume and briefly answer this question:

What is one team you helped make better, and how did you do it?

We are more interested in learning how you lead than receiving a perfectly written cover letter.

Our European Wax Center locations are independently owned and operated equal opportunity employers. Employment decisions are made without unlawful discrimination based on any status protected by applicable law.

Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified applicants and employees with disabilities. Qualified applicants with criminal histories will be considered in accordance with the California Fair Chance Act and applicable local requirements.
