Job description

BALLAST WAX · EUROPEAN WAX CENTER

Assistant Center Manager

Lead from the floor. Grow into more.

318 Mall Blvd, Savannah, GA 31406 · In-Person · Full-Time · Competitive Pay + Bonuses

THE OPPORTUNITY

You're ready for more than a title. You're ready to lead.

As an Assistant Center Manager at European Wax Center, you're the heartbeat of the floor. You coach the team, own the guest experience, drive sales, and step in as the leader-on-duty when it counts. This is a role for someone who already leads - formally or not - and is ready to do it with real responsibility and a clear path to more.

We're Ballast Wax, a fast-growing multi-unit EWC franchisee. We're building from within and we want ACMs who are excited about the beauty and wellness industry, passionate about guest care, and hungry to grow into Center Managers and beyond.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Guest Experience

  • Set the tone for every guest interaction - warm, professional, and consistent
  • Proactively address concerns and resolve issues before they escalate
  • Ensure every guest leaves feeling confident they'll come back

Sales & Goal Achievement

  • Lead by example in educating guests on Wax Passes, products, and services
  • Motivate and coach the team to hit individual and center KPIs
  • Stay sharp on promotions, product launches, and brand updates
  • Support local marketing and community engagement efforts

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Coach Guest Service Associates and Wax Specialists on the floor daily
  • Help onboard new team members and create a welcoming environment
  • Hold the standard - service, professionalism, accountability - in the CM's absence
  • Act as point of contact and decision-maker when leading the shift solo

Center Operations

  • Own opening and closing procedures with precision
  • Ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation standards are never compromised
  • Support accurate POS transactions and guest profile management
  • Assist with daily admin tasks, inventory, and reporting

WHO YOU ARE

You don't wait to be asked. You lead because it's just who you are.

  • You've worked in a guest-facing role for 2+ years - beauty, spa, retail, hospitality, or similar - and you're genuinely good at it.
  • You've led, even if it wasn't your official title. You've trained a new hire, run a shift solo, handled an escalation, or stepped up when it mattered.
  • You're comfortable recommending products and services. You don't hard-sell - you educate. Guests trust you and it shows in the numbers.
  • You know how to coach someone who's struggling without making it feel like a punishment. You lead with empathy and hold the bar.
  • You genuinely love the beauty and wellness industry. You have a personal skincare or waxing routine, follow the space, and want to build a career in it.
  • You're available when guests are - evenings, weekends (one shift, not both), flexible weekday hours. Reliable transportation required.

WHAT WE OFFER

Compensation & Bonuses

  • $16.00/hr base
  • Monthly performance bonuses tied to team and center goals
  • Goals are realistic - our teams hit them
  • Commission on personal sales - rewarded for leading from the front

Growth & Career Path

  • Structured path from ACM to Center Manager and beyond
  • 30-60-90 day onboarding with mentorship from your Center Manager
  • Ongoing training, coaching, and development support

Work-Life Balance

  • 2 weeks PTO after first 90 days
  • Consistent shift structure - one weekend shift, not both

Benefits

  • Medical insurance (55% employer contribution)
  • Supplemental insurance benefits
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid Time Off

OUR HIRING PROCESS

Three steps. No runaround.

  • Step 1 - Video Interview: A real conversation about your experience, style, and what you're looking for.
  • Step 2 - Experience the Center: Come in as a guest. See what we're about from the inside.
  • Step 3 - Mutual Fit Decision: If it clicks for both sides, let's grow together.

OUR VALUES

CONFIDENCE: We model it. | EMPOWERMENT: We create it. | BALANCE: We protect it.
