SUMMARY:

The Joint Operations Center supports two primary directorates, the AD-CS Directorate, and the Assistant Director (AD), Healthcare Operations (HCO) Directorate, and ultimately the Director, Defense Health Agency. This is accomplished through staff integration, knowledge management, crisis response coordination, and Combat Support Agency (CSA) mission implementation. The JOC serves as the focal point of information flow into DHA from external commands then disseminated throughout the organization, down to the markets and back up to various higher headquarters.

The DHA JOC is the centerpiece for planning, coordination, and synchronization of daily operations in relation to combat medical support to the military departments and combatant commands, as well as healthcare operations within military treatment facilities (MTF) providing synergy for effective and efficient mission accomplishment in support of the DHA, Joint Staff (JS), Combatant Commands (CCMDs), Services and the Military Health System (MHS) enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES: + Experienced Military Planner, serves as an advanced technical expert of all planning methodologies and applications in all phases of military operations to provide analytical expertise and expert knowledge of operational design and operation planning. + Leads and acts as a full participant in Joint Planning Groups, Op, Operational Planning Groups (OPG), and Operational Planning Teams (OPT) to develop and integrate medical capabilities into plans. + Coordinate medical operations planning activities coordination through the APEX. Review, establish, or update joint operation planning in support of combat support and contingency operations. + Conduct analysis to support the development and updating of unit Mission Essential Tasks (METs). + Adaptive Planning and Execution Enterprise (APEX) integrates the planning activities of the JPEC and facilitates the transition from planning to execution. The APEX enterprise operates in a networked, collaborative environment, which facilitates dialogue among senior leaders, concurrent and parallel plan development, and collaboration across multiple planning levels. + Strategic direction and continuous dialogue between senior leaders and planners facilitate an early understanding of the situation, problems, and objectives. + The intent is to develop plans that contain military options for the President and SecDef as they seek to shape the environment and respond to contingencies. + T his facilitates responsive plan development that provides up-to-date planning and plans for civilian leaders. The APEX enterprise also promotes involvement with other USG departments and agencies and multinational partners. + Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) is the integrated system used to plan and execute joint military operations , JOPES is a combination of joint policies and procedures (guidance), and automated data processing (ADP) support used to plan and execute joint military operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Bachelor's Degree

+ 5-7 years experience as a Joint Operation Planner or related field

+ Working knowledge of the JPP, JOPES, and APEX planning formats and guidance

+ Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with exceptional analytical problem-solving skills

+ Ability to multi-task on several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines

+ Active Secret Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Prefer 1+ years of experience with completion of an advanced Service Planner school (SAMS, SAASS, JAWS, etc.) and/or 5+ years of experience as medical planner (ex. 1S7 for USN, 70HN for USA, or R-prefix for USAF)

WORKING CONDITIONS:

+ Normal physical conditions

+ Work in a secure environment utilizing classified networks.

+ Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at a computer screen

+ May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes
