Trading Analyst

Aypa is seeking a Trading Analyst to join its Markets Team to support our work in commercial operations of a storage portfolio. This role will specifically require experience in the ERCOT market. Aypa is a growth organization with an established portfolio in a fast-paced industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the development, regular updating, and interpretation of daily reports and model results in relation to optimizing storage assets;
• Enhance market intelligence for bidding strategy of battery storage facilities. Includes analysis of supply and demand variables, weather patterns, and market practices;
• Provide analysis around market congestion relative to asset locations;
• Research and analyze historical datasets to determine statistical relationships;
• Follow market trends, evolving ISO protocols and rule changes and analyze how they impact prices in order to relay updates/changes to the commercial and development teams;
• Interact with the asset manager and QSE service providers on implementing strategy and managing real-time dispatch;
• Help generate bid/offer curves for storage assets;
• Perform ad-hoc projects and duties as required or assigned.

Key Qualifications:

• B.S. in Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or a related field is required;
• MS Excel skills;
• 1+ Years Experience with ERCOT market and bidding of generation assets is required. Other ISO bidding experience is a plus;
• Knowledge of statistics;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Solid ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment;
• Detail-oriented, analytical mindset, and questioning attitude;
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, including a creative and proactive work ethic;  
• Ability to oversee, and personally execute numerous projects simultaneously, work well under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities.

Compensation and Location:

Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience;

Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on both individual performance as well as the overall success of the business;

Location: Austin, TX area. This is a hybrid role and will require in-person work. The ability to work in the United States is a requirement.
