Job Description

CloudHesive, an esteemed Amazon Premier Partner and Managed Services Partner, is currently seeking an adept Cloud Engineer to join our expanding team. Our organization excels in leveraging the capabilities of the public cloud ecosystem through comprehensive consulting and avant-garde managed services, focusing on Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Cost Optimization. As part of our fast-growing team, you will have an opportunity to collaborate with industry experts and play a pivotal role in transforming our customers' businesses.

The Cloud Engineer II will play a pivotal role in spearheading the design, implementation, and management of cloud solutions across AWS platforms. The position is responsible for acting as both Primary and Secondary Engineer on various projects, from AWS Landing Zones and migrations to Well-Architected Reviews and WAR remediation.

LOCATION: This hybrid position will be based at our global headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL or in our Denver, CO office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and assist in designing, building, and deploying cloud infrastructure and services in AWS.
  • Act as both a Primary and Secondary Engineer on projects, depending on complexity and requirements.
  • Conduct buildout of AWS Landing Zones and migrations.
  • Lead and participate in Well-Architected Reviews and WAR remediation work.
  • Implement advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.
  • Utilize DevOps and CI/CD technologies for streamlined development and deployment.
  • Ensure compliance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Maintain an ongoing focus on security best practices.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in technology Operations or Professional Services.
  • Advanced experience within AWS compute, networking, storage, and database services.
  • Experience with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Capability of conducting a Well-Architected Review with guidance.
  • Advanced experience creating and configuring resources through Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience with one or more DevOps, Orchestration/Configuration Management, and Continuous Integration technology (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, etc.).
  • Experience with one or more version control platforms (e.g., Git, Perforce, SVN, TFVC).
  • Experience with one or more container tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Advanced experience with System Administration with both Windows and Linux
  • Advanced experience with Networking and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, etc.).
  • In-depth understanding of virtualization and cloud computing (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen)
  • Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications.
  • Hands on experience within AWS and general best-practices.
  • Good understanding of security best practices.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • AWS Services: Proficiency in AWS compute, networking, storage, and database services.
  • DevOps and CI/CD: Experience with tools like Chef, Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, and Ansible.
  • Version Control: Familiarity with Git, Perforce, SVN, or TFVC.
  • Containerization: Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
  • System Administration: Advanced skills in Windows and Linux administration.
  • Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN.
  • Scripting Languages: Python, PowerShell, or other scripting languages.
  • Database Platforms: Oracle, DB2, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL, MySQL.
  • Application/Web Servers: Tomcat, Websphere, Weblogic, JBOSS, IIS, Apache.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification
  • AWS Certified Solutions SysOps Administrator or Developer Associate
  • AWS Professional or Specialty certification, or commitment to obtaining them. 
  • Commitment to continuous learning through activities like reading technical documentation and participating in webinars.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Expected travel is approximately 10-15% of the year.
