Sales Engineer - Audio Visual - Pre Sales

The Audio Visual Sales Engineer will collaborate with provide technical expertise during the pre-sales process and will be responsible for completion of detailed bill of materials and labor estimates with pricing and scope of work/technical documentation for all opportunities. The Audio Visual Sales Engineer will also collaborate with the team to determine and understand our customers’ existing workflows and business/operational requirements to design solutions that best meet their functionality requirements with focus on end user experience, reliability and future growth.

Audio Visual Sales Engineer Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Consult with existing and potential clients to assess and understand system and technology requirements.

• Attend in-person and/or virtual discovery meetings and perform in person site surveys to determine site conditions and client needs.

• Provide technical expertise and support to sales team. Define and explain our proposed solutions to clients with varying degrees of technical knowledge.

• Advise clients on recommended technical solutions and explain available options including performing cost-benefit analysis of different solutions.

• Design and engineer the best possible solutions for our clients based on room requirements and budget.

• Produce detailed Equipment Bill of Materials and Labor estimate documentation

S• Provide value engineering options for clients when applicable

• Provide Technical Scope of Work and other project documentation as needed.

• Coordinate project handoffs to Engineering team after project is awarded.

• Maintain vendor and manufacturer relationships and obtain supplier quotes as needed per project.

Audio Visual Sales Engineer Job Qualifications/Education/Certifications • Avixa CTS Certification Preferred • Audio DSP training or certification (Biamp, QSC or Clearone) • Control System training or certification (Crestron, Extron or AMX) • Video Wall Display training or certification (Planar Clarity Matrix, Barco Unisee) • Video Wall Processor training or certification (Cinemassive, Jupiter or VuWall)

Sales Engineer Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills

• 3+ years of AV field/install and AV design/engineering experience preferred

• Experience with drawing software used to create system flow drawings (CAD, Visio, etc)

• Ability to read and understand architectural, electrical and single line schematic drawings

• Strong communication skills and experience being customer facing required

• Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines required • Strong organizational skills – ability to document project details and manage working on multiple projects simultaneously

• Highly analytical and detail oriented – ability to provide detailed technical documentation

• Strong computer skills required – experience with Microsoft Excel, Google Documents Suite, Salesforce or comparable web based CRM software, etc.
