Mechanical Engineer Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the engineering aspect of manufacturing and machining operations through a team of lead associates. This position maintains design control and supports project schedule, wood processing, and fabrication through project life cycle.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

• Interpret customer drawings and specifications with contractual requirements.

• Condense high level drawings and models to piece mark drawings and adding material, symbols, call outs, etc.

• Support planning, prototype hardware fabrication, and the assembly processes.

• Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.

• Use manufacturing engineering practices including writing routings and manufacturing instructions.

• Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications, and other documents.

Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent work

• Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.

• Preferred experience designing custom doors.

• Experience in 3D modeling software (SOLIDWORKS)

• Preferred knowledge of fabrication and assembly practices, tools, and fixturing

• Preferred product construction
