The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund), a nationwide human services organization that helps all professionals in performing arts and entertainment is seeking a Social Worker in our Workplace Initiatives Program to join our team to develop and lead workshops and groups as well as provide client-centered clinical case management, supportive counseling, and financial assistance to adult professionals in performing arts and entertainment as well liaison with community stakeholders to provide critical incident support and relevant programming to the entertainment and performing arts community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Workplace Initiatives Social Worker provides support to clients who fall under existing and future Member and Employee Contracts as well entertainment professionals facing a workplace issue or concern such as harassment or behavior management. This position provides direct service including assessment and referrals, intensive case management and mental health counseling, and short-term supportive counseling to a diverse caseload of clients. This position also develops and facilitates workshops, trainings, and groups for MAP and EAP (Member/Employee Assistance Program) contracts and community stakeholders on topics relevant to the performing arts and entertainment industry. Working directly with the Program Director of Workplace Initiatives, this position will respond to Employee Assistance Program and Member Assistance Program needs as well as critical incidents in the community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree from an accredited School of Social Work.
- New York State licensure
- Skilled at public speaking, facilitating workshops and curriculum development
- Strong assessment, clinical case management and advocacy skills. Crisis intervention skills are a must with the ability to engage a wide range of presentations
- Organized and able to handle diverse tasks in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Consistently convey a sense of empathy with clients and demonstrate solid clinical acumen. Value and have the willingness to use the individual and group clinical supervision process to reflect, observe and enhance clinical practice.
- Worker will adhere to and be compliant with NASW code of ethics
PREFERRED QUALITIES
- Experience in or knowledge of the performing arts and entertainment community.
- Availability to assist in agency-wide outreach to the entertainment community to provide information about Actors Fund services.
- Available to conduct groups, seminars, or trainings during the evening and weekends as needed
- Some lifting of supplies for client activities, up to 20lbs
- Ability to travel out of state for in person events and groups
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This is a full-time salaried position based in the Entertainment Community Fund’s National Headquarters Office in Times Square, New York City. COMPENSATION
Compensation is commensurate with licensure type and years of experience. The salary range for candidates who hold an MSW is between $67,500 - $71,826. The salary range for candidates who hold an LCSW is between $75,063 - $76,826. Internships, volunteer work, and gaps in employment will not be counted towards years of experience.
