Job purpose

The Asphalt Plant Admin will assist with daily reporting and processing at each of the plant locations within the southwest Chicago area.  This person will also collect and distribute parts, supplies and various paperwork to/from plant locations, job sites, and the corporate office.

Duties and responsibilities

·         Process plant reports and organize activity tickets on a daily basis.

·         Deposit daily cash and checks at various bank locations and complete associated paperwork.

·         Reconcile the cash box at each plant and ensure adequate balances.

·         Report and record daily production quantities.

·         Responsible for EPA air and dust control reporting at all plant locations.

·         Pickup and drop off parts, supplies, etc. to and from plant locations.

·         Main runner for Westmont corporate location pertaining to check pick-up, bid delivery, and other miscellaneous deliveries.

·         Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

·         HS diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 

·         Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software packages relevant to the position.

·         Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated, and dependable, with a good attendance record.

·         Ability to perform effectively under pressure and get along well with others.

·         Capable to work independently as well as a part of the team.

·         Strong organizational skills with focus on prioritization of workload.

·         Possess good mathematical skills, including basic accounting functions.

·         Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Working conditions

Working at multiple locations including climate-controlled office, asphalt plants, mechanic shop, vehicle, and outdoor construction jobsites.  

Physical requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.  Position requires prolonged sitting and reaching, standing and lifting, as well as operating a motor vehicle.
