This position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Security Services and Resort Transportation Department, developing new leaders, ensuring all employees are engaged and actively pursuing departmental goals, and championing company policies/procedures/ performance standards. Ensures all guest and employee accidents and injuries are responded to, documented, address and proactively evaluated for root causes. Responsible for protecting company assets and personal property from theft, fire, sabotages, or damage. Report incidents that may impact the well being of facilities, customers, or employees to law enforcement and emergency service agencies as may be necessary, liaise with local emergency services. Insure all shuttle routes and schedules are met and drivers provide quality service to resort guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS:

  • Oversee selection of new employees to the department. Ensure selection process results in top-grading of talent. Ensure all new employees are property on-boarded and adopt the Orange Lake culture of excellence. Oversee all technical training of employees.
  • Oversee the regular appraisal of each employee’s performance against assigned goals and competencies.
  • Oversee merit increase process to ensure the highest performing employees regularly receive the most praise, rewards and recognition.
  • Oversee scheduling and ensure work schedules reflect projected occupancy levels and/or severe weather forecasts.
  • Ensure all incident reports are tracked in the appropriate software into computer system. Prepare weekly and monthly summary reports regarding resort incidents. Coordinate insurance items between the resort and insurance company. Distribute and file incident reports.
  • Track and trend data to isolate root causes, recurring issues and quick hits in order to curtail workplace theft, injury, and accidents.
  • Monitor shuttle routes and schedules to insure guest satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSABILITIES:

  • Oversee on-going development of department managers, supervisors and leads.
  • Ensure payroll records are submitted accurately and timely.
  • Ensure all local, state and federal labor and employment laws are adhered to.
  • Ensure department leaders are engaging their employees in a manner consistent with the Orange Lake values and culture.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Polished and professional demeanor and approach.
  • Ability to remain calm and keep composure during high-stress situations
  • Ability to work with changing deadlines and priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Proven ability to motivate a team
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient Computer skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Must be able to use good judgment when addressing a given problem, followed by creative solutions and initiative to complete work.
  • Strong knowledge of standard safety protocols
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with at least 1 year of driving.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Leadership experience at the management level, to include experience leading other leaders.
  • Three to five years of security experience in a high guest contact environment.
  • Experience in resort, timeshare, theme-park or related environment preferred.
  • Experience in resort transportation services and shuttles
  • BA / BS preferred.
